STIMULATE presents an exhibit by PRAESTANTIA BIOSCIENCES at MEDICA 2026
From 16 to 19 November 2026, the international medical and healthcare industry will gather at MEDICA in Düsseldorf. The Research Campus STIMULATE will also be represented: in Hall 3, Stand D94, the spin-off team PRAESTANTIA BIOSCIENCES will be presenting an innovative platform for precision oncology.
How can cancer treatments be tailored more specifically to individual patients? This is the question being addressed by PRAESTANTIA BIOSCIENCES, a spin-off team from Magdeburg University Hospital. The team is developing a multimodal precision oncology platform designed to predict a patient’s response to medication before treatment begins. The technology combines circulating tumour cells from the blood with tumour organoids derived from tissue. A specially developed, patent-pending long-term culture medium is designed to keep the patient’s own tumour cells viable over an extended period. This allows real-world drugs to be tested directly on the living cells. An AI-supported analysis is intended not only to show whether a drug is effective, but also to provide insights into why it works. The technology was researched in collaboration with Magdeburg University Hospital and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg as part of the ego. start-up transfer project, which is funded by the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the European Union.
At MEDICA, Ahmed Yousuf Sanin, Head of the STIMULATE Molecular Surgery research group, will represent the team and present the exhibit. The aim is to establish contacts with partners from the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors and to raise the profile of the technology ahead of its planned commercial launch.
MEDICA brings together international stakeholders from the fields of medicine, technology, industry and politics. It provides a platform for presenting new developments in healthcare, exchanging experiences and initiating collaborations.
Please come and visit us from 16 to 19 November 2026 at MEDICA in Düsseldorf, in Hall 3 at Stand D94. We look forward to speaking with you!
