DPG Internship Coordinators Visit STIMULATE
As part of the Internship Coordinators’ Meeting of the German Physical Society (DPG), we were pleased to welcome around 50 to 60 participants to the Research Campus STIMULATE. The visit provided a good opportunity to present our research infrastructure and to discuss the wide range of opportunities available to students to gain practical experience in research and industry.
Following an introduction to the Bachelor’s degree program in Applied Medical and Rehabilitation Engineering and the STIMULATE Master’s degree program, the guests gained insights into various areas of the Research Campus STIMULATE during a guided tour. Divided into four groups, the participants visited different stations that demonstrated the broad range of opportunities for student involvement and internships at the campus.
At the FLEXtronic Laboratory, the guests were introduced to the opportunities available for students to contribute to current research topics as part of study projects and final theses. At the MRI Laboratory, the focus was on work in the field of interventional MRI as well as the MRSE study course. In the Angio Laboratory, the participants gained insights into research internships and practical work involving image-guided interventional procedures.
The visit concluded at NeoScan Solutions, where the opportunities for industrial internships and the involvement of students in the work of a medical technology company were presented.
The subsequent exchange highlighted the importance of practical experience in the education and training of the next generation of scientists and engineers. At the same time, the visit demonstrated how closely academic study, research, and industrial applications can be connected at the Magdeburg site.
DPG Praktikumsleitertagung zu Gast bei STIMULATE
Im Rahmen der Praktikumsleitertagung der Deutschen Physikalischen Gesellschaft (DPG) durften wir rund 50 bis 60 Teilnehmende am Forschungscampus STIMULATE begrüßen. Der Besuch bot eine gute Gelegenheit, unsere Forschungsinfrastruktur vorzustellen und gemeinsam über die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten für Studierende zu sprechen, praktische Erfahrungen in Forschung und Industrie zu sammeln.
Nach einer Einführung in den Bachelorstudiengang Angewandte Medizinische und Rehabilitationstechnik sowie den Masterstudiengang STIMULATE erhielten die Gäste bei einer Führung Einblicke in verschiedene Bereiche des Forschungscampus. In vier Gruppen wurden unterschiedliche Stationen besucht, die das breite Spektrum der studentischen Mitarbeit und Praktikumsmöglichkeiten am Campus zeigten.
Im FLEXtronic-Labor wurde vorgestellt, welche Möglichkeiten Studierende haben, im Rahmen von Studien- und Abschlussarbeiten an aktuellen Forschungsthemen mitzuwirken. Im MRT-Labor standen die Arbeiten im Bereich der interventionellen MRT sowie der MRSE-Studienkurs im Mittelpunkt. Im Angio-Labor erhielten die Teilnehmenden Einblicke in Forschungspraktika und die praktische Arbeit an bildgestützten interventionellen Verfahren.
Den Abschluss bildete der Besuch bei NeoScan Solutions, bei dem die Möglichkeiten von Industriepraktika und die Einbindung von Studierenden in die Arbeit eines Medizintechnikunternehmens vorgestellt wurden.
Der anschließende Austausch machte deutlich, wie wichtig praxisnahe Erfahrungen für die Ausbildung des wissenschaftlichen und technischen Nachwuchses sind. Gleichzeitig zeigte der Besuch, wie eng Studium, Forschung und industrielle Anwendung am Standort Magdeburg miteinander verbunden werden können.
