Discussions on innovations in medical technology and the life sciences at the Research Campus STIMULATE
On 28 August 2026, the Research Campus STIMULATE welcomed representatives from Magdeburg University Hospital, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the Swiss company XLife Sciences to a joint meeting at the Research Campus in Magdeburg’s Science Harbour. Representing XLife Sciences were Dave L. Deck, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr Alexander Zink, Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), Georg Habighorst, Senior Adviser, and Prof. Michael Bruno Klein, Chairman of the Advisory Board.
The visit focused on gaining insights into current research and innovation activities, as well as discussing ways to accelerate the translation of scientific developments into practical applications and bring them to market. XLife Sciences specifically develops selected life sciences projects in the fields of biotechnology and therapies, medical technology, technology platforms, digital health and artificial intelligence, working closely with universities, clinical centres and research institutions.
During a tour of the laboratories, the participants gained an insight into the campus’s various key research areas. Among other things, the tour showcased approaches to interventional MRI and developments in the field of medical robotics, including research activities carried out in collaboration with STIMULATE partner BEC Medical. In addition, the STIMULATE spin-offs RAYDIAX presented their developments for interventional CT, whilst Neoscan Solutions showcased innovative approaches in the field of MRI technology.
The discussion highlighted the importance of a strong network comprising academia, the clinical sector, industry and start-up support. It is precisely this close collaboration between different partners that creates the key conditions for further developing innovative ideas and technologies arising from research and supporting their progression to clinical application and the market. Austausch zu Innovationen in Medizintechnik und Life Sciences am Forschungscampus STIMULATE
Am 28. August 2026 begrüßte der Forschungscampus STIMULATE Vertretende der Universitätsmedizin Magdeburg, der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg sowie des Schweizer Unternehmens XLife Sciences zu einem gemeinsamen Austausch am Forschungscampus im Magdeburger Wissenschaftshafen. Seitens XLife Sciences nahmen Dave L. Deck, Präsident des Verwaltungsrats, Dr. Alexander Zink, Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), Georg Habighorst, Senior Adviser, sowie Prof. Michael Bruno Klein, Vorsitzender des Beirats, teil.
Im Mittelpunkt des Besuchs standen Einblicke in aktuelle Forschungs- und Innovationsaktivitäten sowie der Austausch über Wege, wissenschaftliche Entwicklungen schneller in die Anwendung und zur Marktreife zu überführen. XLife Sciences entwickelt ausgewählte Life-Science-Projekte in den Bereichen Biotechnologie und Therapien, Medizintechnik, Technologieplattformen sowie digitale Gesundheit und Künstliche Intelligenz gezielt weiter und arbeitet dabei eng mit Universitäten, klinischen Zentren und Forschungseinrichtungen zusammen.
Bei einem Rundgang durch die Labore erhielten die Teilnehmenden Einblicke in verschiedene Forschungsschwerpunkte des Campus. Vorgestellt wurden unter anderem Ansätze der interventionellen MRT sowie Entwicklungen im Bereich der medizinischen Robotik, darunter Forschungsaktivitäten gemeinsam mit dem STIMULATE-Partner BEC Medical. Darüber hinaus präsentierten die STIMULATE-Ausgründungen RAYDIAX ihre Entwicklungen für die interventionelle CT und Neoscan Solutions innovative Ansätze im Bereich der MRT-Technologie.
Der Austausch verdeutlichte die Bedeutung eines starken Netzwerks aus Wissenschaft, Klinik, Wirtschaft und Gründungsförderung. Gerade die enge Zusammenarbeit unterschiedlicher Partner schafft wichtige Voraussetzungen, um innovative Ideen und Technologien aus der Forschung weiterzuentwickeln und ihren Weg in die klinische Anwendung und auf den Markt zu unterstützen. Der Forschungscampus STIMULATE bedankt sich bei allen Teilnehmenden für den offenen und inspirierenden Austausch und freut sich auf die weitere Vernetzung und Zusammenarbeit.
