STIMULATE Contributes Practical Insights to Roundtable on Talent, Internationalization, and Innovation
At the roundtable discussion “Young Talent, Internationalization, and Innovation – Preventing Uncertainty from Turning into Stagnation,” the Research Campus STIMULATE shared its experience in strengthening innovation and developing skilled talent in Saxony-Anhalt. The campus was represented by PD Dr. Karina Held, who joined representatives from the University of Magdeburg, students, industry, and politics to discuss strategies for securing future talent and enhancing the region’s competitiveness.
The discussion focused on attracting and retaining skilled professionals, integrating international talent, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurial activity. STIMULATE contributed concrete examples from its own practice, demonstrating how research, international students, and start-up support can be successfully connected.
Entrepreneurs at the campus are supported not only through research funding but also through mentoring, coaching, and structured knowledge transfer processes that help translate scientific insights into practical applications. The integration of international talent and collaboration within international teams are already an integral part of everyday work at STIMULATE, meaning that many of the ideas discussed at the roundtable are already being successfully implemented at the campus.
Participants emphasized that closer cooperation between academia, industry, and regional stakeholders will be essential to further strengthen innovation and start-up dynamics in Saxony-Anhalt and to make the region an attractive place for talent and businesses. The roundtable is therefore intended as the starting point for ongoing dialogue and the development of concrete measures in the future.

STIMULATE bringt Praxisperspektive in Runden Tisch zu Nachwuchs, Internationalität und Innovationskraft ein
Beim Runden Tisch „Nachwuchs, Internationalität, Innovationskraft – damit aus Unsicherheit kein Stillstand wird“ brachte der Forschungscampus STIMULATE seine Erfahrungen zur Stärkung von Innovation und Fachkräfteentwicklung in Sachsen-Anhalt ein. Vertreten wurde der Campus durch PD Dr. Karina Held, die gemeinsam mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern der Universität Magdeburg, Studierenden, Unternehmen und Politik über Wege diskutierte, Nachwuchs zu sichern und die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Region zu stärken.
Im Mittelpunkt standen Strategien zur Gewinnung von Fachkräften, zur Integration internationaler Talente sowie zur Förderung von Innovation und Gründungsdynamik. STIMULATE brachte dabei konkrete Erfahrungen aus der Praxis ein. Der Forschungscampus zeigt, wie sich Wissenschaft, internationale Studierende und Gründungsförderung erfolgreich verbinden lassen. Gründerinnen und Gründer werden nicht nur über Forschungsprojekte finanziell unterstützt, sondern auch durch Mentoring, Coaching und strukturierte Transferprozesse begleitet. Auch die Integration internationaler Talente sowie die Zusammenarbeit in internationalen Teams gehören am Campus zum gelebten Alltag. Damit setzt STIMULATE bereits zahlreiche der im Gespräch formulierten Ansätze erfolgreich um.
Die Gespräche betonten die Bedeutung enger Kooperationen zwischen Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und regionalen Akteuren, um die Innovations- und Gründungsdynamik in Sachsen-Anhalt weiter zu stärken und den Standort für Talente und Unternehmen attraktiv zu gestalten. Der Runde Tisch soll daher den Auftakt für einen kontinuierlichen Austausch und die Weiterentwicklung konkreter Maßnahmen bilden.
