From STIMULATE to a state-wide medical technology ecosystem: Visit of the Minister President
The team at the Research Campus STIMULATE in Magdeburg welcomed Sven Schulze, Minister-President of Saxony-Anhalt, to present the region's medical technology ecosystem. The aim of the visit was to provide insights into the role of research, innovation and start-up activities at the site and to highlight the close cooperation between science, clinics and industry.
During the event, guests were given an overview of the STIMULATE medical technology ecosystem, its mission, achievements to date and future prospects. The clinical perspective was provided by Magdeburg University Hospital, with particular emphasis on visions for the further development of innovative medical technology.
Two flagship start-ups in the ecosystem, Neoscan Solutions and RAYDIAX, presented practical examples of successful spin-offs and demonstrated how regional start-ups are being implemented in the field of minimally invasive and image-guided medical technology. Other companies and initiatives such as BEC Medical, Scanatiq, MESHwerk and μRIGS actively participated in the presentations and discussions.
During a tour of the STIMULATE laboratories, guests were able to gain insights into MRI interventions, neurointerventions and robot-assisted procedures. The demonstrations highlighted the close interconnection between research, clinical application and technological development, which establishes STIMULATE as a central platform for innovative medical technology. In the angiography lab, the Minister-President presented an honorary medal to the startup RAYDIAX in recognition of its successful acquisition of European Union EIC Accelerator funding – a special distinction honoring an innovation achievement recognized across Europe.
Finally, a dialogue took place between the Minister President and the founding teams of the regional medical technology start-ups. The discussion focused on the framework conditions for growth, future prospects and measures to further strengthen the medical technology ecosystem in Saxony-Anhalt.

Von STIMULATE zum landesweiten Medizintechnik-Ökosystem: Besuch des Ministerpräsidenten
Am Forschungscampus STIMULATE in Magdeburg empfing das Team des Campus Herrn Sven Schulze, den Ministerpräsidenten des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, um das Medizintechnik-Ökosystem der Region vorzustellen. Ziel des Besuchs war es, Einblicke in die Bedeutung von Forschung, Innovation und Gründungsaktivitäten am Standort zu geben und die enge Zusammenarbeit zwischen Wissenschaft, Klinik und Industrie zu verdeutlichen.
Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung erhielten die Gäste einen Überblick über das STIMULATE-Medizintechnik-Ökosystem, seine Mission, bisherigen Erfolge und die zukünftigen Perspektiven. Die klinische Perspektive wurde durch die Universitätsmedizin Magdeburg eingebracht, wobei insbesondere Visionen für die Weiterentwicklung innovativer Medizintechnik hervorgehoben wurden.
Zwei Start-up-Leuchttürme des Ökosystems, Neoscan Solutions und RAYDIAX, präsentierten ihre Praxisbeispiele erfolgreicher Ausgründungen und zeigten auf, wie regionale Gründungen im Bereich minimalinvasive und bildgestützte Medizintechnik umgesetzt werden. Weitere Unternehmen und Initiativen wie BEC Medical, Scanatiq, MESHwerk und μRIGS beteiligten sich aktiv an den Präsentationen und Gesprächen.
Bei einem Rundgang durch die Labore von STIMULATE konnten die Gäste Einblicke in MRT-Interventionen, Neuro-Interventionen sowie robotikgestützte Verfahren gewinnen. Die Demonstrationen zeigten die enge Verzahnung von Forschung, klinischer Anwendung und technologischer Entwicklung, die STIMULATE als zentrale Plattform für innovative Medizintechnik etabliert. Im Angiographielabor überreichte der Ministerpräsident dem Start-up RAYDIAX eine Ehrenmedaille zur Würdigung der erfolgreichen Einwerbung der EIC-Accelerator-Förderung der Europäischen Union – eine besondere Auszeichnung für eine europäisch anerkannte Innovationsleistung aus Sachsen-Anhalt.
Abschließend fand ein Dialog zwischen dem Ministerpräsidenten und den Gründungsteams der regionalen Medizintechnik-Start-ups statt. Diskutiert wurden die Rahmenbedingungen für Wachstum, zukünftige Perspektiven und Maßnahmen zur weiteren Stärkung des Medizintechnik-Ökosystems in Sachsen-Anhalt.
