Two STIMULATE teams nominated for the Hugo Junkers Prize 2025
The Research Campus STIMULATE is delighted that two teams affiliated with us are among the 20 nominees for the Hugo Junkers Prize for Research and Innovation from Saxony-Anhalt. They made it onto the shortlist from 74 applications and will present their ideas to the jury on 11 November. The finalists will be honoured on 11 June 2026 in Magdeburg. The well-established prize is endowed with 80,000 euros and has been recognising outstanding innovations in the categories of basic research, applied research, innovative products, services and business models since 1998, and this year also in the special category ‘Adaptation to Climate Change’.
With the ‘Scanatiq’ project, STIMULATE partner Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is presenting a groundbreaking development in the field of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The innovative, wireless MRI coils enable significantly more flexible and comfortable use in everyday clinical practice. This not only opens up new perspectives for more patient-friendly image-guided intervention, but also improves image quality and workflow in radiology.
The Magdeburg start-up RAYDIAX GmbH impresses with its innovative X-ray collimator system for cancer surgery. This technology enables high-precision radiation guidance directly during the procedure and makes a decisive contribution to better protecting healthy tissue and increasing the efficiency of oncological operations. An approach that has the potential to change cancer treatment in the long term.

Gleich 2 STIMULATE-Teams für den Hugo-Junkers-Preis 2025 nominiert
Der Forschungscampus STIMULATE freut sich, dass gleich zwei mit uns verbundene Teams zu den 20 Nominierten für den Hugo-Junkers-Preis für Forschung und Innovation aus Sachsen-Anhalt gehören. Aus 74 Bewerbungen haben sie es in die engere Auswahl geschafft und präsentieren am 11. November ihre Ideen vor der Jury. Die Finalist:innen werden am 11. Juni 2026 in Magdeburg ausgezeichnet. Der traditionsreiche Preis ist mit 80.000 Euro dotiert und würdigt seit 1998 herausragende Innovationen in den Kategorien Grundlagenforschung, Angewandte Forschung, Innovative Produkte, Dienstleistungen & Geschäftsmodelle sowie in diesem Jahr auch in der Sonderkategorie „Anpassung an den Klimawandel“.
Mit dem Projekt „Scanatiq“ stellt der STIMULATE-Partner die Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg eine bahnbrechende Entwicklung im Bereich der Magnetresonanztomografie (MRT) vor. Die neuartigen, kabellosen MRT-Spulen ermöglichen eine deutlich flexiblere und komfortablere Anwendung im klinischen Alltag. Damit eröffnen sie nicht nur neue Perspektiven für eine patientenfreundlichere bildgestützte Intervention, sondern verbessern auch die Bildqualität und den Workflow in der Radiologie.
Das Magdeburger Start-up RAYDIAX GmbH beeindruckt mit seinem innovativen Röntgen-Kollimatorsystem für Krebsoperationen. Diese Technologie erlaubt eine hochpräzise Strahlenführung direkt während des Eingriffs und trägt entscheidend dazu bei, gesundes Gewebe besser zu schonen und die Effizienz onkologischer Operationen zu steigern. Ein Ansatz, der das Potenzial hat, die Krebsbehandlung nachhaltig zu verändern.
