STIMULATE selected for the third Research Campus funding phase of the BMFTR
The Research Campus STIMULATE has successfully qualified for the third and final funding phase of the ‘Research Campus - Public-Private Partnership for Innovation’ programme of the Federal Ministry of Education, Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). Prof. Dr Georg Rose announced the good news at the STIMULATE Town Hall Meeting on 9 July 2025. Numerous partners from science, industry and politics took part in the event - both on site and digitally.
Qualification was preceded by a comprehensive progress report, a successful technical on-site inspection and a final review by a high-calibre jury in Bonn. With the confirmed start of the third funding phase, which is expected to run for four years from October 2025, the continuation of the Research Campus STIMULATE is now within reach.
In terms of content, the phase is being organised under the motto ‘STIMULATE goes Clinic’: the aim is to work together with Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Siemens Healthineers and the partners in the STIMULATE Association to bring innovative medical technology solutions into clinical application in an even more targeted manner and to strengthen the transfer to healthcare.
Prof Rose thanked all those involved for their great commitment and their contribution to this significant success.
There were also other pleasing announcements: A new campus café will soon open in the STIMULATE building - a place for dialogue, creative breaks and good conversations. In addition, a new ego. incubator is being created that is specifically focussed on design thinking.
STIMULATE für dritte Forschungscampus-Förderphase des BMFTR ausgewählt
Der Forschungscampus STIMULATE hat sich erfolgreich für die dritte und finale Förderphase im Rahmen des Programms „Forschungscampus – öffentlich-private Partnerschaft für Innovationen“ des Bundesministeriums für Bildung, Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt (BMFTR) qualifiziert. Die erfreuliche Nachricht verkündete Prof. Dr. Georg Rose am 09. Juli 2025 im Rahmen des STIMULATE Town Hall Meetings. Zahlreiche Partnerinnen und Partner aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik nahmen an der Veranstaltung teil – sowohl vor Ort als auch digital.
Der Qualifizierung gingen ein umfangreicher Fortschrittsbericht, eine erfolgreiche fachliche Vor-Ort-Begehung sowie eine abschließende Prüfung durch eine hochkarätige Jury in Bonn voraus. Mit dem nun bestätigten Start der dritten Förderphase, die ab voraussichtlich Oktober 2025 über vier Jahre laufen wird, rückt die Verstetigung des Forschungscampus STIMULATE in greifbare Nähe.
Inhaltlich steht die Phase unter dem Leitmotiv „STIMULATE goes Clinic“: Ziel ist es, gemeinsam mit der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, Siemens Healthineers und den Partnern im STIMULATE Verein innovative Medizintechniklösungen noch gezielter in die klinische Anwendung zu bringen und den Transfer in die Versorgung zu stärken.
Prof. Rose dankte allen Beteiligten für ihr großes Engagement und ihren Beitrag zu diesem bedeutenden Erfolg.
Zudem gab es weitere erfreuliche Ankündigungen: Im STIMULATE-Gebäude wird bald ein neues Campus-Café eröffnen – ein Ort für Austausch, kreative Pausen und gute Gespräche. Darüber hinaus entsteht ein neuer ego.-Inkubator, der gezielt auf Design Thinking ausgerichtet ist.
