RAYDIAX – STIMULATE-Beteiligte gründen als CT-Hersteller aus
Der Forschungscampus STIMULATE steht nicht nur für eine exzellente Forschung an sich, sondern legt auch genauso großen Wert auf die Verwertung der Forschungsergebnisse. Dies kann unter anderem durch gemeinsame Forschungsprojekte der Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft mit anschließendem Ergebnistransfer erfolgen oder auch durch Firmengründungen auf Basis von erreichten Forschungsergebnissen.
So flossen Ergebnisse aus dem BMBF-geförderten Projekt KIDs-CT durch eine Gruppe an zielstrebigen Wissenschaftlern in die Gründung des Startups RAYDIAX. RAYDIAX wird daraus als zertifizierter Medizinprodukthersteller einen Therapieassistenz-Computertomographen entwickeln und auf den Markt bringen, welcher allein zur bildgebenden Unterstützung bei minimal-invasiven Operationen konzipiert ist. Die ersten Entwicklungsarbeiten für die Integration der speziell aufeinander abgestimmten Hard- und Softwarekomponenten in ein umfassendes Gesamtsystem sind bereits gestartet. Das RAYDIAX-Therapieassistenz-CT wird kompromisslos nach dem „Interventional Only“-Konzept designt: integriertes Komplikationsmanagement, minimierte Röntgendosis und assistierter Therapieablauf.
Möglich wird das durch ein Team mit einem breiten Kompetenzfeld in den Bereichen der Bildgebung und -rekonstruktion, Therapieplanung, Systemansteuerung und -interaktion sowie Konzeptionierung und Aufbau der Mechanik. Für die kaufmännischen und unternehmerischen Aufgaben wird sich das Team in den kommenden Wochen mit einer weiteren Person verstärken.
Nicht zuletzt bildet aber auch das breite Netzwerk des Forschungscampus STIMULATE eine starke Grundlage für RAYDIAX. Expertinnen und Experten verschiedener Mitglieder des STIMULATE Vereins haben sich dazu bereit erklärt, das Startup durch aktive Mitarbeit innerhalb eines Advisory Boards zu unterstützen. Das bisher akademisch geprägte RAYDIAX-Team profitiert durch die wirtschaftliche Erfahrung der Unterstützenden, wodurch der Weg vom Startup zum erfolgreichen Unternehmen bereitet werden soll.
RAYDIAX - STIMULATE shareholders set up as CT manufacturer
The Research Campus STIMULATE not only stands for excellent research in itself, but also attaches just as much importance to the utilisation of research results. This can take the form of joint research projects between industry and science with subsequent transfer of results or the founding of companies on the basis of research findings.
The results of the BMBF-funded KIDs-CT project were used by a group of determined scientists to found the start-up RAYDIAX. As a certified medical device manufacturer, RAYDIAX will develop and market a therapy assistance computer tomograph designed solely for imaging support during minimally invasive operations. The initial development work for the integration of the specially harmonised hardware and software components into a comprehensive overall system has already begun. The RAYDIAX therapy assistance CT is uncompromisingly designed according to the ‘interventional only’ concept: integrated complication management, minimised X-ray dose and assisted therapy procedure.
This is made possible by a team with a broad range of expertise in the areas of imaging and reconstruction, therapy planning, system control and interaction as well as conceptualisation and construction of the mechanical system. In the coming weeks, the team will be strengthened with an additional person for commercial and entrepreneurial tasks.
Last but not least, the broad network of the Research Campus STIMULATE also forms a strong foundation for RAYDIAX. Experts from various members of the STIMULATE association have agreed to support the start-up by actively participating in an advisory board. The RAYDIAX team, which was previously academically orientated, will benefit from the business experience of those providing support, which will pave the way from start-up to successful company.
