The aim of the transTECH initiative, a sub-project of transPORT, is to establish a magnetic resonance (MR) platform for future MR technologies, which, together with other partners, will identify and develop promising innovations in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance while also raising national and international awareness of the project. In addition to MR technology, the focus will also be on the Science Harbour as a business location.

This is because medical technology has already generated considerable scientific and economic success in the district. Together with other stakeholders, the technological, economic, social and cultural developments of the district will be promoted and strengthened. This will further establish the Science Harbour as a technology hub for magnetic resonance and raise its profile in the public eye, which in turn will increase its attractiveness for further research activities, spin-offs and the establishment of established companies with domain expertise, including supplier companies.

transTECH is one of ten sub-projects within the overall transPORT initiative – Transferhafen Magdeburg, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the T!Raum programme – Transfer spaces for the future of regions.

Ziel der Initiative transTECH als Teilprojekt von transPORT ist es, eine Magnetresonanz (MR)-Plattform für zukünftige MR-Technologien aufzubauen, welche mit weiteren Partnern vielversprechende Innovationen auf dem Gebiet der Kernspinresonanz identifiziert bzw. entwickelt und dafür gleichzeitig nationale und internationale Sichtbarkeit herstellt. Dabei wird neben der MR-Technologie auch der Wissenschaftshafen als Wirtschaftsstandort im Vordergrund stehen.

Denn mit der Medizintechnik wurden im Quartier bereits beachtliche wissenschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Erfolge generiert. Gemeinsam mit weiteren Akteur:innen werden die technologischen, wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und kulturellen Entwicklungen des Quartiers vorangetrieben und gestärkt. Dadurch wird der Standort Wissenschaftshafen als Technologie-HUB für die Magnetresonanz weiter etabliert und rückt zunehmend in die öffentliche Wahrnehmung, wodurch wiederum seine Attraktivität für weitere Forschungsaktivitäten, Ausgründungen und die Ansiedlung etablierter Firmen mit Domain Know-How einschließlich Zuliefererfirmen verstärkt wird.

transTECH ist eines von zunächst zehn Teilprojekten der Gesamtinitiative transPORT – Transferhafen Magdeburg, gefördert durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung in der Programmlinie T!Raum – Transferräume für die Zukunft von Regionen.
