In the CARE-LINK joint project, mediMESH GmbH and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg are developing an innovative, AI-based solution for language-independent induction and training of international nursing and healthcare professionals.

The aim is to create a system that intelligently combines automated translation, adaptive learning support and video-based knowledge transfer. The learning content dynamically adapts to the language level, prior knowledge and learning progress of the users – in easy-to-understand English and parallel in the respective native language. A particular strength lies in the bidirectional interaction: users can ask questions and receive context-related feedback in real time.

While mediMESH is working on the technical implementation of a functional prototype, OVGU is researching scientifically based user interfaces and didactic models for effective knowledge transfer. The focus here is on overcoming language barriers as well as the targeted identification and elimination of learning deficits.

At the end of the project, a tested prototype will be available that will serve as the basis for the subsequent development of a marketable software product – with the aim of facilitating the integration of foreign skilled workers into the German healthcare system in the long term.

Im Verbundprojekt CARE-LINK entwickeln die mediMESH GmbH und die Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg eine innovative, KI-basierte Lösung zur sprachunabhängigen Einarbeitung und Schulung von internationalen Pflege- und Fachkräften im Gesundheitswesen.

Ziel ist es, ein System zu realisieren, das automatisierte Übersetzung, adaptive Lernunterstützung und videobasierte Wissensvermittlung intelligent miteinander verknüpft. Die Lerninhalte passen sich dabei dynamisch an das Sprachniveau, das Vorwissen und den Lernfortschritt der Nutzer:innen an – in einfach verständlichem Deutsch und parallel in der jeweiligen Muttersprache. Eine besondere Stärke liegt in der bidirektionalen Interaktion: Nutzer:innen können Fragen stellen und erhalten kontextbezogene Rückmeldungen in Echtzeit.

Während mediMESH an der technischen Umsetzung eines funktionalen Prototyps arbeitet, erforscht die OVGU wissenschaftlich fundierte Benutzeroberflächen und didaktische Modelle zur effektiven Wissensvermittlung. Dabei steht die Überwindung von Sprachbarrieren ebenso im Fokus wie die gezielte Identifikation und Behebung von Lerndefiziten.

Am Ende des Projekts wird ein getesteter Prototyp vorliegen, der als Grundlage für die anschließende Entwicklung eines marktfähigen Softwareprodukts dient – mit dem Ziel, die Integration ausländischer Fachkräfte in das deutsche Gesundheitswesen nachhaltig zu erleichtern.
